Every year (time and location at website URL below) the Spiedie Fest Hot Air Balloon Rally convenes at Binghamton's Otsiningo Park. Watch as crews unpack and 'inflate' the balloons where upon they take off in silence and awesome grace, humans dangling in straw baskets waving as they float into the wind. Lots of 'eat once a year' food. The Blooming Onions are addictive with a proper punishment for such pleasures taken. There is a proper concert stage with singers and musicians helping to set the festive mood. All in all it is an event that should be experienced, especially for the young and young at heart.
